MEADE, Margaret Gayheart Age 93, of McDowell, the wife of the late Bart T. Meade, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2007, in the McDowell Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born September 13, 1913, in Hindman, the daughter of the late Brown Gayheart and Dora Pridemore Gayheart. She was a member of the Little Rosa Regular Baptist Church, in McDowell, and a homemker. She is survived by a son, Ted (Pat) Meade of Louisville; five daughters: Velma Ward and Dora Ward, both of Chillicothe, Ohio, Ann Hasch and Vivian (Drexel) Hall, both of Louisville, and Pat (Russell) Newman of McDowell; a son-in-law, Eddie Howell of McDowell; a brother, Harry Gayheart of Saint Louisville, Ohio; two sisters: Hazel Nelson of Newark, Ohio, and Danna Wright of Lavenia, Georgia; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Sally Junella and Geraldine Howell. Funeral services for Margaret Gayheart Meade were conducted Tuesday, March 13, at 1:00 p.m., at the Hall Funeral Home, in Martin, with Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial was in the Newman Cemetery, in Hi Hat, under the professional care of the Hall Funeral Home. Visitation was at the funeral home. (FCT'S 03-14-2007)
