HIME, Donald E. age 77 of Centerville, passed away on Feb. 3, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer & Betty Hime, sister & brother-in-law Shirley & William Martin. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 yrs. Glenda (Range), children David (Heather) Hime, Debra Hime of Centerville & Cheryl Lopez of Washington, seven grandchildren Andrew & April Hime, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Noel & Joel Mix, son in law Lawrence Mix of Centerville, sister & brother- in-law Phyllis & William Metzler of Dayton & several nieces & nephews. Don graduated from Patterson Co-op High School & was a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He retired from Dayton Power & Light Co after 38 yrs of service. He also was a professional photographer for Logan Studios & held a pilot's license. Don served as both an elder & deacon at Southminster Presbyterian Church, coached baseball for several years in the original Centerville-Washington Twp. baseball leqague, played softball for Southminster & was proud as a left handed catcher to have caught for the "Ol Lefthander" when Joe Nuxhall was in the Reds farm system. Obviously, Don was an avid Cincinnati Reds Fan. Family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 from 11:30 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM at the Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. Pastor Sue Hamilton officiating. Burial Davids Cemetery.
