ELIZABETHTOWN NEWS ENTERPRISE OBITUARY - 12/22/1955
Miss Rosa Alvey, aged 86 years, the last surviving member of an old Hardin County family, died at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. She had been a patient there for a week following a fall at the Little Sisters of the Poor, where she suffered a broken hip. She was one of Elizabethtown's oldest citizens in point and residence and was a devout member of the Catholic church. For many years she lived on Helm Avenure with her sister, Mrs Minnie Warren, now deceased. The late Henry Alvey of Elizabethtown was her brother. Her closest surviving relatives are nephews Zack Warren, near town and A. B. Alvey of Rineyville. Funeral and burial services were held yesterday at St. James Church and cemetery by the pastor Rev W. J. Hayden. Rose Ellen is buried at St. James Cemetery, Elizabethtown, Ky.
