Mary Jane's mother was admitted to the Western NC asylum after 1900 and died there in 1908. She is buried there.
Mary Jane married Andrew Lawson Starnes on 11 Aug 1889 and they are the children of John Vernon, Gertrude, Cordie, Lawson Gamewell, Sawyer Valentine, Eugene Alphonso and Minnie Starnes.
