Emil Charron, 60, of Crookston, died Wednesday at a Fargo hospital. He had been in ill health for some time.
Mr. Charron was born in Kertsonville Township, near Crookston to Anselme and Delima Charron on February 19, 1914. He married Darlene Reitmeier March 15, 1946.
He is survived by his wife Darlene, one son Kent of Roseville; one daughter, Mrs. Mark (Kathleen) Christopherson of Renton, Washington; two grand children; one brother, Paul of Crookston, and four sisters, Mrs. Jay (Zelia) Murphy, Mrs. Oliver (Agnes) Solie, Mrs. Julian (Lora) Olson and Mrs. Willard (Marion) Heydt, all of Crookston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Mr. Charron grew up in Crookston and owned and operated the Uptown 66 Station her for many years before retiring in 1970. He was a member of the VFW in Bejou and the Crookston American Legion, Past commander of the American Legion, the Elks Lodge and the church parish council. He was a veteran of World War II.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church on Saturday with the Rev. Donal Archer officiating. Interment will be in Oakdale Cemetery and Military rites will be accorded by the Crookston Veterans Council.
Friends and relatives may call at the Stenshoel Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. on Friday and there will be Bible Vigil Friday at 8 p.m. at the Stenshoel Chapel.
