A quiet and very pretty wedding took place at the residence of Mr David Smeaton, at Mangatainoka during the holidays, of Miss Emily Gertrude Dunn, youngest daughter of Mr George Dunn, of Whakaronga, to Mr Edward Thos. Hale, of Hopelands, Woodville. The bride was dressed in cream voile, with veil and orange blossoms and was given away by her brother, Mr W. J. Dunn, of Matatera, Dannevirke. She was attended by Miss Maude May Dunn and two little maids, one little flower girl was the daughter of Mr Williams and the bridegroom was waited upon by Mr Joseph W. Williams. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev Robert Gardner. Mr and Mrs Smeaton entertained the visitors.
After the wedding breakfast the happy couple left for New Plymouth by the express, where the honeymoon will be spent. Upon their return, they will take up their residence on their farm at Hopelands. The bride carried a beautiful shower bouquet and her travelling costume was of navy blue.
