Funeral services for Fay Burk Lee, 93, of Henderson, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Tisdale officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson. Mrs. Lee went to be with her Lord Jan. 3, 2011 at Emeritus of Henderson, where she had resided since January 2009. She was born Sept. 6, 1917 in Rusk County to Rueben Henry Burk and Lenora Mae (Belew) Burk and spent most of her life in Rusk County. She was the third of six children and the last surviving of the six. Mrs. Lee was a 50 plus year member of First Baptist Church of Henderson and a member of the Radio Bible Sunday School class. She was a homemaker, wonderful mother and grandmother, a wonderful cook who always had something tasty to offer her guests, especially her grandchildren when they came for a visit. She became a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked at Henderson Memorial Hospital, but most of her nursing career was doing private duty nursing. She truly had a heart for the sick and elderly. Family will receive friends preceding the service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Raymond W. Lee; parents; brothers, Oliver Burk, R.H. "Buster" Burk; sisters, Louise Foley, Sara Rowell, and Betty Jo Martin; and stepsons, George Lee and Troy Lee. Survivors include one daughter, Ann Hays and husband Jerry of Henderson; three grandchildren, Donald Hays and wife Cynthia, Cynthia Hays Wright and husband Danny, Leesa Fay Palmer and husband Gary, all of the Spring and Conroe area; five great-grandchildren, Philip Wright and wife Joyelle, John David Wright and wife Rachael, of Conroe, Jennifer Bracknell and Lane Valentine of Houston, and LeAnne Hays Nichols of St. Joseph, MO; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers will be Philip Wright, Lane Valentine, Jean Kee, Paul Morris, Neal Spencer, and John David Wright. Condolences may be made at www.crawfordacrim.com.
