Marguerite (Maggie) Burke was the daughter of Michael Burke and Winnifred Donnelin. She married John Joseph Rooney on 8 Aug 1876 in Marshall County, KS. The 1880 census for Marshall Co. KS lists John, Maggie, son Thomas (age 3) and Mary (age 1). Census records state that both of Maggie's parents were born in Ireland. The spelling of Maggie's mother's maiden name (Winfred Donnelin) was taken from Maggie's death certificate.
