He is survived by his wife, Mona; son, Tim and wife, Kathleen Schneider of Illinois; and three lovely daughters, Anna and husband, Steve Certuche, RaeLynn and husband, Greg Craley, and Dawn Pieper all of Bakersfield. He was the wonderful grandfather of eight: Timmy, Michael, Nicolas of Illinois, Tyler, Zach, Tori, Aaron and JaeLynn of Bakersfield. He is also survived by sister, Carol Ulrich and family; and brother, George Pieper. He is also survived by his in-laws, J.R. and Millie Wren, Thurman and Barbara Horn, special (sons), Phillip Haas, of Germany, and David Clem, and close friends, Ed Ontiveros and Danny Dearmore. Larry and Mona were married for three months before he was sent to Viet Nam for a year. Upon his completion of military service the two of them moved to Boron, California, where he worked nine years for US Borax. They then moved to Bakersfield were he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Quinn Co., and then he was off to Alaska where he worked for ten years before retuning to Bakersfield to work for Granite Construction. Larry spent many happy hours camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends. He especially loved horseback riding with Danny Dearmore. He will be greatly remembered as a storyteller who was always making everyone laugh.
