Luella M. Dammann, age 99, of Annandale died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Annandale Care Center.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fairhaven with Rev. Dave Milz officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church.

Luella Marie Dammann was born January 25, 1910 in South Haven Township to Christian and Augusta C. (Scmildt) Strecker. She was Baptized on March 6, 1910 and Confirmed in her faith on June 21, 1924 both at Concordia Lutheran Church. Luella attended South Haven High School and was united in marriage to Otto Dammann on December 16, 1934 at Concordia Lutheran Church. They celebrated 42 years of marriage together while farming and raising a family in Fairhaven Township, Stearns County. Otto died on August 15, 1976 and Luella remained on the farm until at the age of 90 she moved to Annandale where she enjoyed her last years. Luella was a lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church, LWML, Ladies Aid Society, Senior Citizens Group, Craft Group and Bible Class Member. She also taught Sunday school and summer school. Luella was a past member of Stearns County Homemakers and she volunteered many hours at Pioneer Park as a guide. She enjoyed gardening, baking, sewing, crocheting and quilting. Luella treasured her family & home and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children & their spouses Delmer & Carol of Litchfield, Darlene & Donald Oberg of Elk River, daughter-in-law Doreen Dammann of Annandale, 5 grandchildren Doug (Carol) Oberg, Diane (Duane) Fenske, Lori (Jeff) Chmiel, Tom (Sarah), and Jim Dammann; 7 great grandchildren Steve (Mary) & Kathy Fenske, Jenny (Paul) St. Martin, Josh & Jeremy Oberg, Jessica & Katey Chmiel, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, son Kenneth, siblings Emil, William, Louis, Theodore and Lester Strecker, Anna Markwardt, Laura Rozenberg and Emma Strecker.

The pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. A special prayer will be offered by Darrell Strecker and the music for the service will be provided by Sandra Strecker, soloist and Ruth Fry, organist. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
