Amos Wesley Medlin was born in Denton County, Texas on land which his ancestors had gained through land grant back in the late 1840's. He lost, due to illness, his mother, a sister and a brother when he was just four years old. His father remarried two years later.
Raised in a farming family, he eventually changed his career path to maintenance engineering, working exclusively in the commercial laundry business. He drove a panel truck filled with tools which he used to work on the industrial boilers and equipment in the business.
He was a partner in a Canadian laundry business when the boiler in that building exploded, severely burning his son, Arnold Wayne Medlin, who worked for him. His son survived his wounds and his link is found below.
Amos and his wife Buna had been married for 56 years at the time of his passing.
