His obit from the Frankfort(Kansas)Sentintel June 1, 1888 says:
Died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hamilton Auld, living two miles souteast of Frankfort, George Bradford, aged 88 years.
Mr. George Bradford was born in Exter England, in the first year of the present century and has lived to witness the great changes that have transpired in the most eventful of all periods in the world's history. He came to America fifty-two years ago and settled in Boston, Mas., where in the year 1837 he was married to Helen Graham and five or six years afterwards they moved to Philadelphia; then in 1847 or 1848 they again changed their place of abode to Wheeling, VA. In 1860 they started for the far west and did not stop until they ahd passed the confines of civilization and settled upon lands in Marshall County (Kansas), where he has resided ever since. In 1869 after 32 years of married life, he lost his wife and has since lived with his relatives. He was a silent man, but a deep reasoner and was always found on the side on the oppressed and opposed to the oppressor. He was therefore bitterly opposed to the monopoly control of our government and to all class laws and privileges. He was a lifelong Episcopalian and died in that belief. He has three sons and three daughters living, all of whom are married except James and George.
Mr. Bradford has lived a quiet, useful and exemplary life. His strictly temperate habits added so greatly to his term of life, that he only lacked twelve years of spanning the whole century. By his death, Marshall County has lost one of its oldest settlers and one of its most respected and honored citizens.
He is the father of: John, Sarah, Ann, Mary Ellen, James, George, William, Joseph and Arthur all born between 1840-1856 before the family came to Kansas in 1860.
