Louise was born in Prussia, Germany. She was the daughter of Daniel and Catherine Davis Hibner. Her siblings were Frederick, of Hartland, and Wilhamine "Minnie" of Saline, Kansas, and Charles Hibner also came to Michigan as a young man, and served in the Michigan Volunteer Infantry Co K 5th Regiment, during the Civil War. Charles and his wife are buried nearby.

Louise, married Johann (John) Brendel, who came to America in 1852 to avoid conscription in Germany. She was the mother of 8 children upon her death in 1882.
