Beloved husband of his first wife Harriette Walker (1954)his second wife Martha (Laymen).

Dearest son of Willard and Sophia (Rau-Berner)Leonard of St. Louis MI. Born in Gratiot County MI. moving to Detroit circa 1915.Walter started working at Detroit Stamp and Stencil in 1916 as a printer apprentice.

Circa 1950 he purchased and owned "Detroit Stamp and Stencil Company", the company name was later changed to Detroit Marking Products. Walter kept the business opened during the very heavy rioting in Detroit 1967. So that his employees could pay their bills and feed their families.

In 1917 he married Harriette Walker daughter of Frank and Anna Walker of Detroit. Marriage was at Holy Redeemer Church 1721 Junction Detroit MI.
Walter and Harriette lived on Clark St. having 2 beautiful daughters Rose Marie and Harriette Ann. He and his wife later moved to Grosse Ile MI. in 1952,building a custom river front home on West River Road. Reputed to be haunted!!!!
He was a member of the Holy Redeemer Ushers, Rotary Club, Grosse Ile Yacht Club, Ham Radio Broadcasters, Garden Club .Detroit Athletic Club.
In circa 1916 Walter Louis moved to Detroit Michigan. With his half brother, Ernest Leonard. Sadly Walter and his wife Harriette, had to BUR Y ERNEST, and three of his brothers children due to a massive outbreak of T.B. and Cholera, they are all linked below.

In 1930-1940 "s he started doing research into his family genealogy, with cousin Mary- Jane Merritt ,Alice Kieffer ,Glen Vliet, Alice nee Leonard Keefer, Welcome Keefer, and his two daughters.
He and his wife now have 13 grandchildren and numerous gr-grandchildren. AND GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
