Avon - A 19-year old Roachdale native was killed Monday night when the motorcycle he was riding hit the side of an automobile on a Hendricks County road three miles northeast of Avon.
Neal A. Harvey,, 153 Shiloh Rd., Indianapolis, was north-bound on Hendricks County Roade 1050 E at 8:40 p.m. when his motorcylcle struck the left side of an auto driven by Herman Schmitt, 20, Route 18, Indianapolis.
Police authorities said Schmitt was pulling onto the roadway from a private drive when the accident occurred.
A 1976 graduate of North Putnam High School, Harvey was born at Roachdale Nov. 21, 1957, the son of Earl and Mildred Gordon Harvey.
Survivors include his father Earl Harvey, Greencastle; his mother, Mildred Harvey, Indianapolis; two brothers, Earl and Clifford Harvey, Indianapolis; and one sister, Mrs. Ray (Audrey) Baird, Terre Haute.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Perkins Funeral Home, Roachdale. Burial will be at Bainbridge Cemetery.
