Colonel Leach Is Buried
Laid to Rest in Arlington With Military Ceremonies
Funeral services for Colonel Smith S. Leach, Engineer Corps, United States Army who died in this city last Saturday were held yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at St. Alban's Chapel, Cathedral Heights. They were in charge of the Rev. G.C.F. Bratenahl. At the conclusion of the services the flag draped and flower covered casket was placed on a gun caisson and taken to the National Cemetery at Arlington where it was buried with military ceremonies.
The honorary pallbearers were: Major General Alexander McKenzie, United States Army, retired; Brigadier General W.W. Wotherspoon, General Staff, United States Army; Brigadier General W.L. Marshall, Chief of Engineers, United States Army; Brigadier John M. Wilson, United States Army, retired; Colonel Frederick V. Abbot, Corps of Engineers, United States Army; Major W.V. Judson, Engineer Commissioner of the District of Columbia and Pickering Dodge of the Engineer Office.
