Daniel's service records from the Revolutionary War show that in 1782 he was a Private under CAPT Abraham Scott, 2nd Company, 7th Battalion, Lancaster County Militia. In 1779 he is listed under PA Supply Tax, Donegal Township, Lancaster County, PA. He is also listed in the 1779 PA Census in the same location. In 1783 he is listed in tax records as located in Derry Township, Lancaster County, PA (after 1785, Derry Twp is in Dauphin County, PA.)
A deed dated 24 Apr 1784 shows that he purchased a tract of land with 187 acres called "Harmony" in Lower Paxton Township, Lancaster County, PA. (in1785 this became Dauphin County) On 13 March 1802, Daniel and his wife, Maria Elizabeth, sell the 187 acres called Harmony.
The 1820 census shows him living in Lower Paxton Twp, Dauphin County, PA.
