Clara L. "Granny" Hardin, 92, of Beaver Creek Road, Andrews, died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at her home.

A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, she was a daughter of the late Taylor and Rosetta Leatherwood Kelly, and wife of the late Bertie R. Hardin, who passed away March, 1993. She was a member of the Mtn. View Baptist Church. Granny Hardin loved her family, friends, cooking, flowers, quilting and the Lord, who made it all possible.

She was preceded in death by children, Kenneth, Katherine, Clinton and Clarence Hardin; two brothers, Claude and Henry Kelly; one sister, Mary Bell K. Brown, and one granddaughter, Teresa McLean.

Surviving are children and spouses; Carl and Billie Hardin of Murphy, Betty and Clifford Evans of Nantahala, Meredith and David Higdon of Andrews, Lucille and Stanley West of Inman, SC, Clay "Eddie" and Susie Hardin of Andrews, and Sue Jones Hardin, wife of deceased son Clarence of Andrews, one brother, Tommy and Lorene Kelly of Murphy; three sisters, Pauline K. Hardin and Mary Lou K. Stiles both of Murphy, and Lucy K. Sexton of Strawberry Plains, TN; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Kelly of Gastonia, NC; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. today, March 16, at the Townson Rose Chapel in Andrews. The Rev. Clay "Eddie" Hardin and Rev. Tommy Lamb will officiate. Interment will be in Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews.
