DIX, Christian J. Jr. 59 of Williamsburg, MI., formerly from Dayton, Ohio, died November 30, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. Born April 27, 1946, he was the eldest son of Christian J. and Naomi D. (Peterson) Dix Sr. He married Dianne L. Gudorf on August 13, 1966. He is survived by his wife Dianne, his six children Rosemary Dix (Neil Buckwalter), Christian Dix Ill (Heather Apple), Patrick (Melissa) Dix, Matthew (Vicki) Dix, Stephen Dix and Joseph Dix; five grandchildren Justin, Tiffany, Corteney, Maci and Olivia; his sister Patricia Dix and his brother Michael Dix. Chris was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David Dix. Chris worked with his dad in the construction business where he learned many home building skills. He was an electrician for Generations Electrical Services in Lake Leelanau, MI and formerly owned and operated Dix Electric in Dayton, Oh. He was always in the process of building or remodeling his homes. His love of boating and being around the water attracted him to Michigan where he moved several years ago. He was active in his children's lives and participated in many of their activities. Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Elk Rapids, MI. A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Church in New Carlisle on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the memorial service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Church Building Fund, 143 Charles St., Elk Rapids, MI 49629. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids, MI.
