OBITUARY

The Greenville News (SC) - Monday, August 23, 2004

EASLEY, SC - Jerry Randle Barnes, 63, of 401 Brushy Creek Road, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, the son of the late Avery Jefferson and Laura Gilstrap Barnes, Mr. Barnes was a graduate of Liberty High School, Class of 1958, and was the retired owner and operator of Jerry's Lawn Service. He was a member of Powdersville First Baptist Church where he belonged to the Men's Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his wife, Diane Searcy Barnes of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher L. and Susan L. Barnes of Simpsonville; and a grandson, Matthew Thomas Barnes.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Joel Wright and the Rev. Mark Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Life Point, 4200 Faber Place, Charleston, SC 29405.

The family is at the residence.

Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.
