Sherman T. Jones, a carpenter by occupation, died suddenly early Thursday morning at 2 o'clock in his home, 134 Gladstone street. Death was caused by heart trouble. He was 72 years of age.
Mr. Jones had lived nearly all his life in Wabash where he was married on Oct. 25, 1899, to Christina N. Haupert, who survives. He was born in Talona, Ill., on Oct. 5, 1870, the son of Matthew and Mary Jane (Norris) Jones. Other survivors besides the widow are two children. Lt. Robert I. Jones of Ocala, Fla., and Mrs. Harry Miller of Wabash; a sister, Mrs. John Hammes of Marion and three grandchildren.
Mr. Jones was a member of the First Methodist church.
The date of the funeral will be announced later awaiting word of the time of arrival of the son, Lt. Jones. The body will remain at the Jones Funeral home where friends may call.
