Mr. Willie Curtis "Bugger" Ervin, 59, of Mooresboro, died Monday, June 25, 2007, at Hospice House of Rutherford County.

Mr. Ervin, a native of Cleveland County, was born Sept. 4, 1947, a son of the late Curtis William and Alpha McAbee Ervin. He was of the Baptist faith and he played guitar in the gospel band "Gospel Spirits" performing at radio stations and his home church Mount Calvary in Polkville as well as other churches and rest homes.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, William Eugene Ervin; and a sister, Pauline E. Anderson.

He is survived by his wife Rachel Greene Ervin; two sons, W.G. "Willie" Ervin of Casar, and Wayne Ervin of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Linda and Eddie Huckabee of Forest City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Virgie Berry Dellinger and Louis of Statesville, Rachel Ervin Boston and Oscar of Salisbury; sisters-in-law Betty Campbell Ervin of Florida, Shirley Campbell and Henry of Mooresboro, Ruby and Jerry Raines of Mooresboro; two grandchildren, John Michael Weaver (Ervin), the sunshine of his life Elizabeth Ann Ervin (Huckabee); and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation: The family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home and other times at the home of Willie Greene Ervin.

Funeral: Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home Chapel

Burial: Campfield Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery
