Death Claims Frank C. Pickens

Frank C. Pickens, aged 59 years, died Tuesday night at his home six miles southwest of Davis, after suffering the past year from the effects of cancer of the face.

The funeral was held at Green Hill cemetery at Davis this afternoon at 3 o'clock and was attended by a large crowd of neighbors and friends who had known him for many years and held him in high esteem.

Mr. Pickens was born in Tennessee, July 1, 1869. Forty years ago he located between what is now Hennepin and Alpers where he remained until 11 years ago when he moved to his last home on Colbert. He was one of the early settlers in this section and did his part in developing the country. He engaged in farming.

He is survived by a wife, two daughters and five sons, namely: Mrs. Zona Harmon of Alpers; Mrs. Sidney Blodgett and Frank Pickens of Sapulpa; John, Roy, Henry and Lester Pickens of Davis. He also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Geo. Starr of San Angelo, Texas, and two brothers, A. J. Pickens of Sand Springs, Okla., and Wm. Pickens of Blanchard.
