Joseph Newton Armes, 62, resident of Route 5, Raedels Street, Springdale, died January 19 at the Springdale Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 13, 1895, at Kingston, Arkansas. An employee of Peter Fox Company, he was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors are the wife, Mauda Weathers Armes, of the home; three sons, Doyle Armes, Sanger, Calif.; Noel Armes of Springdale and Clebert of Pryor, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Velma White of Avonal, Calif., and Mrs. Dorothy Brawley, Southgate, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Rogers and Mrs. Minnie Combs, of Rocky, Okla., and Mrs. Beulah Smelley of Berryville; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Cecil Garrison and Rev. John Griggs officiating.
Burial in the Alabam cemetery was under direction of Callison-Sisco Funeral Home.
