Mary Sue Thornton Lester, December 14, 1914 - Sept. 25, 2009Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Memory Chapel, with interment in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Dr. Randy Turner of First Baptist Church will officiate.She was born in Vossburg on December 14, 1914.She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Laurel. She was an avid fisherman. Mary Sue was active in the Republican Women and was their first president of the organization in Laurel. She was a member of Bay Flower Garden Club.Mary Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Teresa Thornton and her devoted husband, Pat W. Lester whom she was married to for over 72 years.When her two sons, Tom and Mike went to college, Mary Sue, at age 57, went to work for Home Interiors out of Dallas, Texas. She retired as Branch Manager at 75 years old.Survivors include sons, Tom W. Lester and Michael Lester, one grandchild, Meagan Stommes, three great-grandchildren, Haleigh, J.
