Anchorage resident Eric Logan, 43, died Feb. 21, 2009, of a heart attack while snowmobiling in the mountains of Petersville. A funeral with a visitation was held at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel, 440 E. Klatt Road, with the Rev. Michael DuPree officiating. He was interred at Angelus Memorial Park in the spring.

Eric was born Dec. 5, 1965, in Estherville, Iowa, to Garth and Carla Logan. He came to Alaska in 1969. Eric graduated from Service High School in 1984. He also earned a bachelor's degree from Wayland Baptist University and a master's degree in project management from Aspen University. Eric was employed by Alaska Power and Telephone for the last 15 years as general manager of operations. Eric and Dianna were married in 1995 in a quiet cove at Big Lake. He enjoyed snowmobiling and playing volleyball. His family said: "Eric will live in our hearts every day. His optimistic and happy spirit will always be there to guide us. He was a perfect husband, father, son, brother and friend. He will always be loved and remembered." Eric was preceded in death by his brother, Grant Logan, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Dianna Logan; daughters, Brooke Logan, Julia Logan, Ashley Logan and Valerie Heinrichs; father, Garth Logan; mother, Carla Logan; sister, Des Logan; brother, Clint Logan; sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Brent Heisler; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the daughters of Eric Logan, "Special Account," First National Bank Alaska, Dianna Logan. Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel.
