Associate professor emerita of physical education and former dean of students at Mary Washington College.Joined the college staff as a teacher in 1969.
Retired in 1984 as dean of students,a position she held from 1973-1976. She also served on the faculty of George Peabody Collge and Virginia Tech.
She had been a longtime teacher and coach at Radford High School.
