ELBERTON - Mrs. Bertha Hartsell Beckham , 86, of Nancy Hart Nursing Center, widow of Calvin C. Beckham, died Friday Dec. 27, 1996 at the Nancy Hart Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Maxfield officiating. Graveside service will be held at the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery at Winnsboro, S.C. Monday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Fred McDaniel officiating. The family will be at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Mike Seymour, 561 Jones St., Elberton and will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Berry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be; Richard Beckham, Calvin Beckham, Robert Beckham, Mike Seymour, Jarred Beckham, and Darrell Witcher.
Born in Cabarrus County, NC, Mrs. Beckham was a daughter of the late Samuel Joshua Hartsell and Lula Jane Dearmon Hartsell. She was a member of Calvery Presbyterian Church in Elberton, the Eastern Star, a graduate of Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC and was a retired Registered Nurse.

Survivors include: one son, Ralph S. Beckham, of Newbery, SC; grandchildren; Richard Beckham, of Winston Salem, NC; Calvin Beckham, Marian Gibson, Cathy Seymour, and Ivy Witcher, of Elberton; Robert Beckham, of Augusta, GA.; Theresa Suttles, and Missy Williams, both of Bowman, and Harold Beckham, III, of Oklahoma City, Ok; one brother; Frank Hartsell, of Albermarle, NC and 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Beckham was preceded in death by one son; Harold C. Beckham.
Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Calvery Presbyterian Church, in Elberton.
