Elizabeth Harker Minson, 91, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away surrounded by her family members February 23, 2002, from causes incident to age.
Born March 11, 1910, in Lewisville, Idaho to Parley Harker and Elizabeth Boyes Walker. Attended schools in southeast Idaho and graduated from Idaho State College and subsequently taught school in Soda Springs, Idaho. She married Russell Perrett Minson, April 8, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and lived the next 12 years in Southern Idaho. The family moved to Salt Lake City in 1947.
Elizabeth was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding positions in the Relief Society, Primary and Sunday School. Worked in the Salt Lake Temple and, after retiring from teaching, completed a mission in southern California. Teaching children was the love of her life. Serving friends and neighbors was her passion. She is dearly loved and will be missed desperately.
Survived by one sister, Ruth Ann Williams, Lewisville, ID; one brother, Eldon Harker, Idaho Falls, ID; five sons, Kenneth L. (Dorothy), Ronald K. (Heidi), Russell P., Stanley H. (Kathy), Gordon L. (Yvonne); one daughter, Carol Ann Burton (Richard); 39 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; son, Glen H.; three brothers, Joseph, Ivan, Glen; and one sister, Mary Tea.
Services will be Wednesday, February 27, 2002, East Stratford Ward Chapel, 2605 S. 15 E, Salt Lake City, UT, 11 a.m. Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m., Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Dr, and 10-10:45 a.m. Wed. prior to the funeral, East Stratford Ward Chapel. Interment, Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery, Idaho Falls, ID.
