RONALD "ACE" LAFORCE BURLINGTON - Ronald "Ace" LaForce, 76, died peacefully at home with his family in Burlington on Sept. 22, 2009.

He was born in Burlington on Oct. 1, 1932, son of Frank and Mary (Whalley) LaForce.

Ronald had worked for nearly 40 years at Burlington Paperstock on Archibald Street. He worked as a crane operator and foreman. He was a good husband and father. Ron was an avid softball player, a member of several teams in Burlington, affectionately known as "Ace" to his team members.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Prim LaForce; his children and their spouses, Ronald LaForce Jr. and Gina LaForce of Burlington, Craig LaForce of Georgia, Robert O. and Cassandra LaForce of Colchester, William F. and Joanne LaForce of Williston, and his "fifth" son, Roland Prim and wife, Mary of Colchester; his grandchildren, Sarah and Michael Foster, Ronald LaForce III and CiCi, Robbie Lucas LaForce and Erin, Tosh and Bailey LaForce, Bobby and Bruce LaForce, and Megan LaForce.; 7 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Doris Mae Young of Keeseville, N.Y.; his caregiver, Paula Mackey, and many softball friends.

He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Robert; Raymond and Sonny LaForce; and a sister, Alberta Aikey.

Visiting hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 in the Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Home, 85 N. Winooski Ave., Burlington.

A funeral service will be held at Boucher and Pritchard on Saturday at 10 a.m. with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
