Mr. Turner, 91, died of natural causes at his residence in Klamath Falls on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009.
He was born on Oct. 6, 1917, in Center, Colo., to Edgar Lewis and Mary Ozina (Duke) Turner.
He came to Klamath Falls from Nampa, Idaho, in 1940.
On Oct. 5, 1941, he was married to the former Donna M. Cogdill in Reno, Nev.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a systems manager for Albers Feed and Grain and retired from Weyerhaeuser Timber Company.
Mr. Turner enjoyed raising livestock, cutting firewood, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and built a log playhouse for his granddaughters, nieces, nephews and the neighborhood children.
He is survived by his only son Dale Turner and his wife Judy of McMinnville, Ore.; his grandchildren Liz Bolton and her husband Christopher of Junction City, Ore., and Michelle Turner of Burien, Wash.; and his great-granddaughters Hannah, Seth and Zed Bolton of Junction City; his sister Marie Wryn and her husband Frank of Rocky Point, Ore.; nephews Jim Turner of Sublimity, Ore., and Bill Turner and his wife Carolyn of Chemult, Ore.; and other relatives in Colorado, including a cousin Elma Howard.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna in 2006.
