LOWELL V. PARKS
Lowell Veldon Parks, 60, rural Remsen, a life long Plymouth county resident, died unexpectedly Friday (October 10, 1975) at a Sioux City hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. Mr. Parks had attended an auction sale for a member of the family prior to suffering the attack. He was born June 27, 1915 at rural LeMars. His parents were Arthur and Bessie (Phelps) Parks. His marriage to Myrtle Reeves took place February 24, 1937 at LeMars.

Mr. Parks was a member of the Free Methodist church in LeMars, where he was active as a longtime treasurer and trustee. He was a farm operator. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in LeMars with Rev. C. W. Oscarson officiating. Burial was in LeMars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home. A prayer service was held Sunday evening at the funeral home. Casketbearers were Edward Dempster, Roger Dempster, Keith Parks, Warren Reeves, Steve Isaacs and Donald Lyons.

Survivors are his wife, Myrtle, of rural Remsen; two sons, Ralph of Glendale, Calif., and Lyle of Claremore, Okla.; and two daughters, Mrs. Doyle (Beverly) Martin of Hinton, and Mrs. Jim (Blanche) Hazelbaker, Carmargo, Okla.; nine grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Parks of Prescott, Ariz.; and three sisters, Mrs. Aurel Collett, St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Pauline Dempster, LeMars, and Mrs. Charlotte Lyons, Boone. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wilbur.
