Injured at Cedar Mountain--while advancing on the enemy, left groin ruptured when fell crossing deep ravine with very steep sides. Wounded at Antietam--gunshot left leg. United States Army General Hospital No 2 City Hotel Branch Frederick Maryland. Camden Street United States Army General Hospital Baltimore Maryland. Discharged Baltimore 12-20-62 wounds: lame from muscle contraction; Nephew of regimental Chaplain Thomas Whitted. Died Bedford Indiana 1-17-1917, buried Bedford Crawford Cemetery
