BORGER - Services for Buddy George Parkhurst, 25, a former resident of Amarillo and Borger, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Calvary Baptist Church.
Officiating will be the Rev. Joe Bozarth, pastor of Borger Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Simpson Funeral Home.
Mr. Parkhurst died Monday at an Enid, Okla., hospital of injuries suffered in a pickup truck-train collision six miles northwest of Enid.
A spokesman for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Mr. Parkhurst was attempting to cross at a railroad intersection when the vehicle was struck by a northbound Santa Fe train about 10 a.m. Monday.
The vehicle, which was reportedly carrying several flammable tanks, burst into flames on impact.
Mr. Parkhurst was graduated from Phillips High School in 1967. He was an employe of Malcolm Hinkle Refrigeration Co. in Amarillo before being transferred to the company's Alva, Okla. operation several months ago.
Survivors include the widow, Judy; a son, Jeremy; a daughter, Melissa; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David S. Parkhurst of Borger; two sisters, Mrs. Beverly Dillard of 3509 NE 21st, Amarillo and Mrs. Elva Dell Childers of 2031 Oak, Amarillo.
