Virginia A. Pippert (nee Lyndes), 65, of Wakeman died Monday at the Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin after a short illness.
Born in Elyria, she lived most of her life in the Kipton and Wakeman areas.
A 1953 graduate of Elyria High School, she was a member of the Camden Baptist Church in Camden Township and the church's Out-Reach Committee.
She was a former den mother for the Cub Scouts in Kipton. She enjoyed living on a farm, spending time with her grandchildren and reading.
Survivors include daughters Debra Wright of Wakeman and Sandra Petry of Wellington; sons Jon of Wellington; Tom of Wakeman and Jim of Carey, Ohio; eight grandchildren; her mother, Helen (nee Dumke) Lyndes of North Ridgeville; a sister, Linda Lee of Elyria; a brother, Richard Lyndes of Worthington, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1978, and her father, Harvey Lyndes.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Camden Baptist Church, 50679 State Route 303, Camden Township. Pastor Calvin Searles will officiate. Burial will be private.
