Arthur Joseph Wiele III was born in Peoria, Illinois to Arthur Joseph Wiele, Jr. and Celestine "Sally" (née Sauer) Wiele. In the late 40's, his mother, sisters and he moved to Elyria, Ohio, where Art attended Elyria Schools. Art held a few jobs until he settled in at Harshaw Chemical (later Englehard), where he became a member of the Quarter Century Club. He married first, Eileen (née Mandeville) with whom he had three daughters, Debbie, Vickie, and Diane; he married second Judy (née Dunlap) in October of 1970 with whom he had one daughter Erica and one son Arthur Joseph IV); he also helped to raise his "son by choice", Sandy Kyle Hensley with love.
Arthur died after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, January 6th. 1995 at the age of 57. Art was a beloved member of his extended family and was a true joy to be around. Quiet, unassuming and loving, he is missed greatly. Family barbecues are not the same without him, indeed life is not the same. We honor his memory by talking about him and smiling often.
