Peggy Ann Willis Almond

Peggy Ann Willis Almond, age 57, of Daniels, West Virginia was welcomed into heaven on Saturday September 19, 2009. Peggy Ann died at her Daniels, West Virginia home after an eight year battle with lung cancer. Born on April 15, 1952, at Oak Hill, West Virginia, Peggy Ann was the daughter of the late Afton C. Willis and Priscilla " Pat" N. Adkins Willis. Peggy Ann graduated from Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon, Virginia with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in both Management and Marketing. She attended Fayetteville High School and Tannery Elementary School. Peggy Ann worked in social services agencies and companies for most of her working career in Tennessee and Virginia. She also loved spending time with her family, friends, and tending to her flower garden. Peggy Ann is survived by her loving husband, Dan E. Almond, Sr. of Daniels, West Virginia Her son, Dan E. Almond, Jr. and his wife Christy of Johnson City, Tennessee Step daughters: Heather N. Goldberg and her husband Brad of Fredericksburg, Virginia Kimberley D. Schiltz and her husband David of Dublin, Ohio Also, she will be missed by her grandson, Matthew S. Goldberg of Fredericksburg, Virginia By sisters, Pam Willis of Oak Hill, West Virginia and Sandra Long and her husband Eddie of Lanark, West Virginia; her brother, Afton C. Willis Jr. of Cunard, West Virginia Peggy's nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and many dear friends in Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia also survive. The memorial service celebrating Peggy Ann's Life will be held at the Abingdon Senior Center, 300 Senior Drive, Abingdon, Virginia 24210 on Saturday October 3, 2009 at 2 PM.
