Miss Emma A. Crum

Miss Emma A. Crum of 318 N. Plain St. died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1938, at Hyattsville, Md., where she had gone to visit her sister, Mrs. Robert A. Jehle. Miss Crum had lived in Ithaca for a number of years after her retirement from teaching in New York.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. H.H. Crum; two sisters, Mrs. W.E. Hopper of Ithaca and Mrs. Jehle of Hyattsville; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Frederick S. Crum of Newark, N.J., and these nieces and nephews: Miss Helen Louise Crum, Walter E. Hopper Jr., both of Ithaca; Ruth, John, and Arthur Jehle of Hyattsville, Md., and Mary Elizabeth Crum and Robert Hopper Crum of Newark, N.J.

Miss Crum was a member of Ithaca Woman’s Club and the Art Department of that organization. She also belonged to the Daughters of Union Veterans and was active in the Philathea Class of the First Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Methodist Church, the Rev. Dr. Raymond H. Huse, pastor, officiating.
