James Perry Going, 69, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born April 24, 1935, in Cottonwood Point, Mo., he was the son of the late Otto and Hattie Johnson Going. He was a 1953 graduate of Caruthersville High School and had been a member of the Caruthersville Kiwanis Club. He was a former Caruthersville councilman and had worked as an electrician for Ark-Mo Power Company before starting his own business, Going Service Company. He was affiliated with the Protestant faith.
On Oct. 18, 1980, he married Margie Fraze in Pemiscot County, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include six children, James Going Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Nesbit, Miss., Dale Going and wife, Ashley, of Bartlett, Tenn., Jacqueline Bobbitt and husband, Shain, of North Carolina, Paul Wayne Towery of Forrest City, Ark., Donna Kay Camness and husband, Alferd, of Hughes, Ark., and Andy Towery and wife, Heather, of Caruthersville, Mo.; one brother, Otto Going and wife, Yousko, of Oak Harbor, Wash.; five sisters, Betty Teeter and husband, Dempsey, of Niceville, Fla., Peggy Landers of Prairieville, La., Ann Thompson of Caruthersville, Mo., Linda Griffin and husband, Gerald, of Greenville, S.C., and Cathy Killett of Fulton, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Mo., with Dr. Paul Currie officiating. Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Mo.
