Shearwater Pottery, located on the Anderson compound on a wooded hill overlooking the Mississippi Sound, is a going concern run by younger generations of the Anderson family. After Hurricane Katrina caused extensive damage to the pottery works in 2005, the family rebuilt and continues to produce the traditional pottery -- beloved for its lustrous glazes and combination of glazes that have attracted patrons for nearly a century. The Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival is held on the first weekend of November each year in Ocean Springs.
