He graduated from the Greater Latrobe Senior High School in 2009. In high school he was a member of the National Honor Society and was a recipient of the Army Reserve Scholar Athlete Award. He earned First Team All Section Honors three times for the Latrobe Soccer Team where he was a starter for four years and a captain for two. He played Club Level Soccer for the Foothills Soccer Club and he earned section honors in his senior year for his placekicking for the Latrobe football team.
Along with his parents, Joey is survived by three sisters, Natalie, Nicole, and Jennifer; grandmother Rita Dado; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Dado, Sr. and his maternal grandparents, James and Eileen Quinn.
Cause of death: accidental fall
