He was the son of William Nealie and Estelle Eloise Maynard. He grew up in this area and married Francis Barricks in 1955 in McAlester. They moved to Irving, Texas and raised their family there. After moving to Texas, he worked for Dallas Automotive, Ramsey Trucking, Southwest International, National Fleet, and Metro Ford from 1977 until his retirement in 1996. They then moved back to the Lake McAlester area. He enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, fishing, drawing, playing his guitar, and singing. He passed away at his home at the age of 77. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Jr. and Teresa Maynard, Irving, Texas, Dewayne and Cathy Maynard, Waxahachie, Texas, Billy Maynard, of McAlester, and Frank and Cyndi Maynard, Irving, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Gary Daniels, of McAlester, and Linda and Dale Husman, of McAlester. Also, 22 grandchildren, Rachel, Brandon, Caleb, Christene, Lou, April, Joshua, Stephanie, Charley, Cobey, Casey, Cayne, Justin, Kristen, Frankie Jo, Samantha, Robbie, Michael, Daniel, Jeff, Alysha, and Jeremy. And, six great-grandchildren, Brittany, Bubba, Xavier, Alexander, Brandon, and Ford; brother, Joseph Dewayne Maynard, Ferris, Texas, and two sisters, Betty Shropshire, of Indianola, and Beulah Stacks, of Arpelar. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Maynard; parents, Nealie and Estelle Maynard, and three brothers, James Maynard, Billy Maynard and Delano Maynard. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Dorsey Cemetery with Timothy Dale Maynard officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
