Enid, OK — The funeral for William "Bill" Thomson, 89, of Kingfisher, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Sanders Funeral Chapel, Kingfisher. David Johnson will officiate. A private burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Kingfisher to Thomas Ray and Blanche Krieble Thomson and died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009.

He was a lifelong resident of Kingfisher, graduating from Kingfisher High school in 1938. He worked at People's National Bank, then served in the Air Force during World War II as a control tower operator in the China-Burma Indian Theater. Following his discharge, he returned to Kingfisher to work at People's National Bank, eventually becoming president. He also worked at Kingfisher Bank and Trust, Community National Bank of Okarche and Community State Bank of Dover before he retired at age 83. He also was a farmer and stockman, a real estate associate and worked in the insurance industry. He was a member of Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Kingfisher County school board, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Industrial Development Foundation.

Surviving are his three children, Kathi Miller, Joe Thomson and Thomas Thomson, all of Oklahoma City; stepchildren, Brad and Christy Jack; one brother, John Thomson of Muskogee; his first wife, Trudy McCully Thomson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Lillian and Karen.
