daughter of Albert Yale "Abel" Culver and Chloe CURTIS. Martha, her parents, and grandparents were all born CT,
Gaylord and the Curtis/Curtiss family are colonial Americans.
Albert and Chloe had three daughters, Rhoda, a nurse who never married and twins Mary and Martha A, Mary married Wm FENN after the girls were living in the Fenn household as seen in 1860, Martha married John W. Talmadge, both 1864.

Curtis family:
Chloe was the daughter of Salmon Curtis (FAG #106618092) and Nancy GAYLORD, of Burlington, Hartford Co, CT. She is named in her mother's 1858 Burlington, Hartford Co., CT Will in her married name. Salmon was the son of James Curtis, grave not yet found.

1860 Bristol, Hartford Co.,CT, the 3 daughters listed at home while living in other homes! Martha and twin Mary are in the Sabra Fenn and her son Wm B home as glass painters, Rhoda is a private RN in the Mitchell home.
1864 Mary married Wm B. FENN, had 2 daughters.
1864 married John Talmadge November, had 1 son

Fred, b. 1868, is only son/child, the couple list both of their parents born CT

Their only son, Fred, moves to NYC, marries 1893 to Martha L BROWN, b. 1864 NY., they live in Jersey city, NJ until 1896 when they move to Brooklyn, he works for the carnival industry and becomes an alcoholic. the granddaughters work movies and become the silent film stars, retiring by 1930 due to "talkies".

1900 Plainville, CT, 400 Broad St, the couple inherit 35 acres farmland from her widow gmother, Chloe Culver, did they sell it? they live next to her widow twin sister, Mary Fenn and her married dau. Rosie Oldenshaw.
1910 Plainville, CT, 277 Broad St (did numbers get changed?), the couple live alone flanked by her twin sister, Mary Fenn living with her dau. Rosie Oldenshaw (no children) and Mary Eloise Stephenson.
1915 husband dies, Talmadge granddaughters come to funeral
1920 Plainville, 204 Broad St, widow Martha is living same house with married niece and husband, Walter T. and Rosie Belle Oldershaw, she is listed in obit as living here when she died. Walter born CT of English parents, he was married to her gdaughterRosie Bell FENN, dau of Mary A Culver and William Bennet FENN, Mary died 1914. Rosie's sister, Mary Eloise Stephenson is no longer a neighbor.
