Beard Funeral Rites
Funeral rites of Newton Beard, Willis, Michigan, who died after a lingering illness late Monday evening, were held Friday afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Towne, Jackson Street. Mr. Beard formerly lived in Amherst, moving to Michigan in 1921.
Rev. C.E. Schmidt, pastor of St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church, officated. Two vocal duets, "Rock of Ages" and "Face to Face" were sung by Mrs. L. Roemer and Miss HIlda Krieg. Pall bearers were Clarence Cook, Harry Bracker, John Wilhelm, Ottis Bahl, George Town and William Youngless.
Burial was made at Elmwood Cemetery in charge of the O.H. Baker Co.
