He served in the 91st Bombardment Group, in the 323rd Bomb Squad out of Bassingbourn, England as a mechanic for the B-17.
The son of Italian immigrants, he was raised in a Catholic orphanage from the age of 9, until he left at the age of 13 when he went to a manual trade school. at 14, he was a veterinary assistant, and enlisted in the Army Air Corps at the age of 24.
He worked for the North American Aviation in Columbus, OH, the Smithsonian Institute's National Air & Space Museum, Garber Facility in Suitland, MD. He retired in 1993 at the age of 75.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Evelyn Boreman Genotti of Benwood, WV, whom he married on July 29, 1950.
Also survived by childen, Greg, Mary, & Diana; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and his sister, Vickie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Giovanni Costantino Genotti & Ethel Garibaldi Genotti; two grandchildren, Chris & Anthony, and his brother, Gus Genotti.
Interment followed Mass of Christian Burial offered at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, Woodbridge, VA, Friday, August 8, 2008.
