Harry O. “Sam” WARNER, 79, of 1809 Oakwood Drive, died at 12:52 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Hospital. He had been in failing healh for 3 1/2 months.
He was born May 19, 1908 in Elgin, Ill., to Alva and Vernie NELSON WARNER. He had lived in North Liberty, Ind., before moving here in 1943. He was married Jan. 2, 1937 in Kokomo to Josephine GORDON, who survives. He was an operator of heavy equipment for a number of years, and for five years he was a business agent of the Operating Engineers Local Union in Kokomo.
Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Mrs. Elvin (Ellen) JONES, Lansing, Kan.; two sons, David [WARNER], Warsaw, and Robert [WARNER], Twelve Mile; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie BEEM, Clarkesville, Tenn.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Teal YOUNCE officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and on Monday from 9 a.m. until services.
