Geneva Cozette Conder Stewart, age 85, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at West Tennessee Transitional Care. She was born, reared, and lived her entire life in Chester County, the daughter of the late Joseph Lawson and Emma May Smith Conder. She attended Chester County Schools. She was married to William Harlie Stewart in 1942. They made their home in the Sweetlips Community, Glendale and then Henderson the past fifty-seven years. Mr. Stewart died in 1953.
Mrs. Stewart had worked in Food Service at Freed Hardeman and then as a C.N. A. at Chester County Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Church Hostess for a number of years.
She is survived by three children: Ann Ballard (James) of Montezuma, Fay Stewart and Jane Flatt both of Henderson; and five grandchildren: Randy Ballard (Shannon) of Henderson, Brandi Price (Tim) of Bethel Springs, Heather Stewart of Jackson, Heath Stewart and Brad Flatt both of Henderson; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Joe Stewart (in 1993) and two sisters Inetha Smith (in 2000) and Newanda Cross (in 2005).
Funeral Services will be 4:00 pm, Friday, from the Chapel of Casey Funeral Home with Bro. Stan Smith and Bro. Mike Stover officiating and burial will follow in Unity Cemetery in Chester County.
