DIES AT AGE 81,
LAST RITES HERE
..Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Markle, wife of Thomas Markle, pioneer businessman of this area, died May 21 in her Glasgow home at the age of 81. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., May 24, in St. Matthew's Episcopal church with Fr. Harold Adams officiating.
..Pallbearers were Clifford Bruce, Elmer Gilchrist, Jack Woods, Dick Markle, Jack Markle and Bert Hallett.
..Burial was in Highlands cemetery. Bell mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
..A daughter of George Woods and Sarah Ramsey, Mrs. Markle was born in Park River, N.D., Jan. 18, 1887. She grew up in Park River and attended schools there. She was married to T. H. Markle in Glasgow, Oct. 7, 1912.
..A member of the Episcopal church, White Shrine and Eastern Star, Mrs. Markle had also served as Montana mother adviser of Rainbow.
..Survivors include her husband, Thomas, in their Glasgow home; three sons, Orval Ernest, Clarence Darwin and Robert Dayton, all of Glasgow; a brother, Walter E. Woods of Saco; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
