Myrtle Ann Schomburg Byers, 86, of Brenham, died April 22, 2005, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Byers was born March 4, 1919, in Brenham, to Alvin and Helena Vick Schomburg. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. She attended Brenham High School and was retired from hospital administration.

Mrs. Byers was preceded in death by her first husband, W.E. Allen; her second husband, Horace Cox; her third husband, Charlie Byers; and her sister, Dorothy Wilkening.

Survivors include her grandson, James Bartosh and wife Ann of Huntsville; brother-in-law, Woody Wilkening of Brenham; nephew, Mark Wilkening and wife Lorri of Brenham; niece, Marsha Lochridge and husband Kevin of Highlands; great-nephew and great-nieces, Chad Vogler, Corey Lochridge and Cara Lochridge.

The graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham with Pastor Virgil Pecht. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
